Sunshine Sangria

Sunshine Sangria

This is a delightful and easy-to-make sangria that celebrates the bright, refreshing flavors of summer. With a base of Sauvignon Blanc, this sangria is light, citrusy, and perfect for sipping on a sunny day.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle (750 ml) of Sauvignon Blanc

  • 1/4 cup of honey or sugar (optional, adjust to your desired sweetness)

  • 1 ripe peach, pitted and sliced

  • 1 ripe nectarine, pitted and sliced

  • 1 ripe mango, peeled and cut into chunks

  • 1 orange, thinly sliced

  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced

  • 1 cup of pineapple chunks (fresh or canned)

  • 1 cup of club soda or sparkling water

  • Ice for serving

  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large pitcher, combine the Sauvignon Blanc and honey or sugar (if using). Stir well until the honey or sugar is fully dissolved.

  2. Add the peach, nectarine, mango, orange, lemon, and pineapple chunks to the pitcher. Mix well, making sure the fruit is fully submerged in the wine mixture. This will allow the flavors to blend nicely.

  3. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours, but ideally overnight. This chilling period allows the flavors to meld together.

  4. Just before serving, stir in the club soda or sparkling water to add a bit of fizz to your sangria.

  5. Serve the Sunshine Sangria over ice in wine glasses. Be sure to scoop some of the fruit into each glass.

  6. Garnish each glass with a sprig of fresh mint for an added touch of color and freshness.

  7. Enjoy the Sunshine Sangria responsibly, ideally on a sunny patio with good company.

Remember, sangria is highly customizable. Feel free to modify the recipe based on what fruits are in season or your personal taste preferences. This Sunshine Sangria recipe is a fantastic way to showcase the flavors of summer and the crisp, fruity characteristics of a good Sauvignon Blanc.
